A public inquest is being held into the dead of a 44 year old man found unresponsive in his cell at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert in June of 2017.
The Justice Ministry says livesaving attempts were made with the automated External Defibrillator and CPR, but Daniel Tokarchuk was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
The inquest was originally scheduled for earlier this year, but was postponed because of the pandemic.
Tokarchuk had a variety of convictions including second-degree murder in connection to the killing of Trevor Savoie, who was known to be a Hells Angels associate.
The inquest will be held October 5th to 9th in Prince Albert.
