There are 355 New Cases of COVID in Saskatchewan

There are 355 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan in addition to 216 recoveries which leaves the active case count at 2,894.

The most new cases are in Saskatoon with 110, followed by the North Central with 73. Twenty-one of the new cases are in Regina.

The seven-day average of new cases is 300.

Right now, 138 people are in hospital, 99 of whom are not fully vaccinated. Of those hospitalized, 22 people are in intensive care.

There were 2,812 doses of the vaccine were administered Friday and just over 700,000 Saskatchewan residents are fully vaccinated.

  • As of September 4th, there are 355 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 55,750 reported cases.
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (23), Far North Central (1), Far North East (30), North West (26), North Central (73), North East (17), Saskatoon (110), Central West (2), Central East (12), Regina (21), South West (5), South Central (3) and South East (14) zones and 18 new cases have pending residence information.
  • Twenty-seven (27) cases with pending location were assigned to the Far North West (from September 2 (1)), Far North East (from September 2 (2)), North West (from September 2 (1)), North Central (from September 1 (3), September 2 (15)), North East (from September 1 (1)), Saskatoon (from September 2(1)), South West (from September 2 (1)) South East (from September 2 (2)) zones.
  • One (1) case has been deemed an out-of-province resident and removed from Far North East (September 1 (1)) zone.
  • 55,750 cases are confirmed
    • 13,386 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 12,541 cases are from the Regina area
    • 12,692 cases are from the North area (5,330 North West, 5,408 North Central, 1,954 North East)
    • 6,814 cases are from the Far North area (3,283 Far North West, 494 Far North Central, 3,037 Far North East)
    • 6,437 cases are from the South area (1,300 South West, 2,060 South Central, 3,077 South East)
    • 3,612 cases are from the Central area (973 Central West, 2,639 Central East)
    • 268 cases have pending residence information
  • 2,894 cases are considered active and 52,246 cases are considered recovered.
  • More than one-third (35.2%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years of age category.
  • About one in seven (13.8%) new cases was fully vaccinated.
  • As of September 4th, a total of 138 individuals are hospitalized. Of the 138 patients, 99 (71.7%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • No new death reported today. 610 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
  • 1,038,129 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of September 2, 2021, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 873,225 tests performed per million population, which is lower than the national rate of 1,073,052 tests performed per million population.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 300 (24.9 new cases per 100,000).
