Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) are investigating the collapse of a portion of ceiling onto a construction crew on Tuesday afternoon on the University of Saskatchewan campus.
The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call at 2:14 p.m. saying that roof panels had collapsed, in what the Saskatoon Police Service described as an industrial accident in the 10 block of Campus Drive.
The Saskatoon Fire Department rescue crews found three male workers with injuries under the collapsed portion of ceiling. One of the workers was sustained a leg fracture after being trapped underneath roof panels. Another worker sustained a fractured ankle while the other had bruising to his body.
All were removed safely from the scene and taken to hospital by Medavie Health Services ambulance. Other workers in the crew present were found safe.
