A 21-year-old woman from Swift Current is one of three people dead following a single-vehicle rollover early Monday morning in Cypress County, in southeastern Alberta near Medicine Hat.
None of the three deceased have been identified. At about 1 a.m. Monday morning, Recliff RCMP attended to a report of a vehicle that drove off the road and into the St. Mary’s Irrigation District canal, located at the junction of Highway 523 and Range Road 73. One of the vehicle’s four occupants was able escape the vehicle and get to a nearby residence where 911 was called. The vehicle was found submerged on its roof with three occupants still inside and deceased. Besides the 21-year-old woman from Swift Current, there was a 28-year-old male and a 21-year-old female, both from Medicine Hat. The investigation continues with the RCMP Collision Reconstructionist on the scene.
