A motion was approved at the City of Saskatoon’s Finance Committee that the Independent Office of the City Auditor review the ratio of full-time equivalent staff to management positions and the cost of supervisors per full time equivalent positions overall and in each department over the last five years. Councilor Cynthia Block’s motion also asked for a comparison with other cities and that the report be presented to Council prior to the November 2024-25 multi-year budget.
The City has another special budget meeting coming up on Tuesday, trying to find ways to cut costs. Administration has found some revisions which now include a gap of $26.2 million next year and $19.3 million in 2025.
