Berries Continue Juicing up Various Streaks in High-Scoring Victory Over Regina

By Les Lazaruk Jun 30, 2025 | 11:36 PM

Add Ethan Menard’s hitting prowess to the list of positive streaks the Saskatoon Berries currently find themselves on.

The Louisiana product led off the bottom of the third inning with his sixth home run in three games and went three-for-five overall at the plate as the Berries out-slugged the Regina Red Sox 12-10 Monday night in front of a standing room only crowd of 2,058 at Cairns Field. The victory was the seventh straight for Saskatoon, now a W-C-B-L-best 22-3 overall for the season. The Berries are a perfect 14-0 at home and have won all four head-to-head meetings, so far, over their Big City Saskatchewan rivals. Since coming off a Lower Body injury, Menard is 11-for-15, or .733, at the dish with 11 R-B-I in addition to the six homers over the last three games. While Saskatoon never trailed in the game, Regina never quit battling back. Even after the Berries broke a 5-5 tie with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Red Sox kept clawing back, but couldn’t overcome Saskatoon’s offence which featured 17 hits in total. Second baseman Abiam Medina went three-for-four at the plate with two R-B-I for the Berries and shortstop Nathan Houston chipped in with a three-for-five night and two R-B-I. Saskatoon and the 12-12 Red Sox meet again Canada Day Tuesday afternoon in Regina before the Berries come back to Cairns Field for home games Wednesday and Thursday against Moose Jaw and Weyburn, respectively. Following are Les Lazaruk’s post-game interviews with Saskatoon head coach Joe Carnahan, Menard and Medina plus the official box score courtesy the W-C-B-L website…..
