The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a fire in the 1100 block of 17th Street West around 4:17 p.m. Friday.
The building was fully evacuated before firefighters arrived and fire crews could see light smoke coming from the structure when they rolled up.
When firefighters went in they found a lithium battery and the area around the battery was burnt. They extinguished the blaze and removed the battery to the street. Hazmat attended the scene to make sure there weren’t any other hazards in the building.
The were no injuries and the fire is under investigation.
