After low pressure systems moved into Saskatchewan on the weekend, Environment Canada says two tornadoes are being investigated by Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Northern Tornadoes Project.
A tornado was seen 5 kilometres south of Maryfield around 4 p.m. on Sunday. And the RCMP report a possible tornado near Kelso on Sunday. That tornado has not yet been confirmed. Both communities are south of Moosomin in southeast Saskatchewan.
As of 7 a.m. on Monday, the 48-hour rainfall amounts indicate Maryfield was also in the top two according to volunteer weather observers who recorded 71.4 millimetres in the community while the only area greater was Brendenbury, east of Yorkton with 84.6 millimetres. Also, according to volunteer weather observers Saskatoon saw between 26.2 to 32.5 millimetres of rain while Prince Albert received 29.3.
