The Saskatoon and Region Home Builders’ Association has launched a new certification program for professional renovators. The certification is the first of its kind in Canada. In addition to meeting the requirements of membership in the Association, certified renovators will be required to successfully complete mandatory education courses, demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety, obtain third-party warranty coverage for their work, and commit to a Code of Ethics tied to a professional complaints process. The warrant coverage would apply to projects worth more than $20 thousand.
