Just before 1 Wednesday morning, the Saskatoon Fie Department received multiple reports of smoke coming from building in the 200 block of 33rd Street West. Arriving in less than 3 minutes, fire crews found smoke coming from a small, boarded-up mixed use residential/commercial building. Firefighters had to break in to get inside. The blaze was in the basement. No occupants or pets were inside.
The incident is under investigation by both the Fire Department and the Saskatoon Police Service.
Then, multiple 911 calls came in to the Saskatoon Fire Department just before two o’clock this morning (wed) about a boarded-up residential structure ablaze on the 18 hundred block of 20th Street West. Firefighters arrived in about four minutes to find flames visible from the front. The fire was under control within 10 minutes. There were no occupants or pets inside. No one was hurt. The incident is under investigation. There is no damage estimate.
