The on scene fire investigation at the garage fire early this morning at 113 Avenue M South has been completed and the Fire Department has deemed it suspicious. The investigation has been turned over to the Saskatoon Police Service.
Fire crews were returning from a garage fire on Avenue J when they noticed smoke around 22nd and Avenue P. An off-duty police officer confirmed the fire on Avenue M, as a truck was being dispatched. The fire damage is estimated at $8-thousand.
The police are also investigating suspicious fires from this past weekend. Early Saturday morning, emergency crews responded to a shed fire behind 41 Bell Crescent in the Nutana Park neighbourhood and while there, noticed another shed fire 2 houses down at 45 Bell Crescent. Then Saturday night, the Fire Department was called to a vacant home in the 600 block of Avenue H South where the blaze affected the overhead power line. All 3 are considered suspicious.
