Per capita, Saskatchewan eligible voters topped all of the provinces and territories with the largest percentage of people coming out to the polls at 71.72 per cent. Elections Canada says that doesn’t include those who registered on election day.
The lowest voter turnout was in Nunavut at 48.38 per cent. The national average was 65.95 per cent of eligible voters exercising their civic right. In the country, just over 17-million-890-thousand people voted with the eligible count at just over 27-million-126-thousand registered electors, other than those that may have registered on election day. In Saskatchewan, 570-thousand-505 people out of 795-thousand-416 registered electors voted.
These numbers don’t include those who registered on election day.
