History may not be worth the paper it’s written on, but the Saskatoon Blades have history on their side as they get set to host Moose Jaw Tuesday night in Game 3 of their best-of-seven W-H-L Eastern Conference quarter-final series.
The Bridge City Bunch have won six straight home games over the Warriors, dating back to October 27, 2019. And, the Blue and Gold need to exercise home-ice advantage as they trail 2-0 to the Warriors after losses in Moose Jaw over the weekend. In addition, coming back from a 2-0 playoff series deficit can be done…and has been done in Saskatoon Blades’ history. Coached by the late Brad McCrimmon, the Blue and Gold of 2000…with Cam Ondrik in goal and future N-H-Lers Garnet Exelby on defence along with Martin Erat, Warren Peters and Darcy Hordichuk up front…rallied from 2-0 down to oust the Regina Pats in seven games. Blades’ head coach Brennan Sonne talked about his team’s mindset going into Game 3…..
Game time is 7 p.m. at SaskTel Centre with CJWW’s broadcast beginning at 6:30.
