It took a while for it to happen but the Saskatchewan Roughriders have brought Global defensive lineman Sylvain Yondjouen into their fold.
He was the Green and White’s first pick, sixth overall, in this year’s C-F-L Global Draft. The 6’4″, 260-pound Belgian attended N-F-L rookie mini-camp with Carolina after going unselected in the 2025 N-F-L Draft but didn’t end up signing a contract with the Panthers. Yondjouen played 52 U-S College games at Georgia Tech. The Riders return to the practice field Tuesday from their second of three bye weeks this season, and are home to Hamilton on Saturday. ROUGHRIDERS ADD 1ST ROUND 2025 GLOBAL DRAFT SELECTION SYLVAIN YONDJOUEN
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Global defensive lineman Sylvain Yondjouen.
Yondjouen (6’4-260) was selected by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the first round, sixth overall, of the 2025 Global Draft. He spent six collegiate seasons (2019–2024) at Georgia Tech, appearing in 52 games with 13 starts. The native of Ruisbroek, Belgium, recorded 76 career defensive tackles, including 16 tackles for loss, six sacks, seven pass breakups, seven pass deflections, and one forced fumble. As a senior, he led his team with seven quarterback hurries and five pass breakups and ranked second with six tackles for loss. Following the 2025 NFL Draft, Yondjouen accepted a minicamp invite from the Carolina Panthers.
