Two men have drowned in northern Saskatchewan in 2 separate incidents this week.
On Wednesday, the Pelican Narrows RCMP were called to Father’s Lake, which is just north of that community. A 28 year old man had been swimming in front of the rocks and beach area and was missing. His body was found by someone at the scene and emergency crews performed CPR, but were unsuccessful.
The next day RCMP officers from the Green Lake detachment were called to the Cowan Dam Campground in Cowan Lake, which is about 75 kilometres east of Meadow Lake. It had been reported a 67 year old man had been found in a small creek near the campground. Police believe he fell down a dirt embankment into an area where the water is 8 to 10 feet deep.
Neither death is considered suspicious.
