It was a hot day Saturday in southern Saskatchewan. Moose Jaw was the hot spot reaching a daytime high of 35.5 around mid-afternoon.
Regina reached a daytime high of 33.9 degrees Celsius, while further north was quite a bit cooler with the mercury in Saskatoon reaching a high of 26.9.
A photo making its rounds on social media shows kids swimming in a large puddle in a parking lot in Melville. Environment Canada says they don’t have any stations in Melville to determine how much rain fell in the community.
Dan Fulton with the weather office says they have a station in Yorkton, although only 1 mm of rain was recorded there, which he says isn’t the case in Melville which received more rainfall based on photos on the internet.
Other significant rainfall in the province Saturday was in the north in the Key Lake area which received a total of 48.3 mm Saturday.
