The Estevan Police Service has become the first municipal police agency to join the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network. Supervisors there will now join RCMP detachment commanders in being able to text messages, emails, or phone calls to residents with information about criminal activity in their area. The RCMP operates the network. The province provides about $50 thousand funding. The network was launched in RCMP detachments in southern Saskatchewan in March and then expanded to detachments province-wide in April.
