You can enjoy some of your favourite entertainers, taste every type of food imaginable, get rocketed around on the rides, take in the local art competition, including school art and a hobbies and collectible area, and shop at the trade show. It’s the Saskatoon EX, which begins today (Tues) and runs through Sunday at Prairieland Park. Marketing manager, Kristy Rempel, says there are new food offerings this year, like bacon onion rings on a stick and a butter beer ice cream with a Hogwarts theme. The old classics like Doukhobor bread and spudnuts are also available. The Doukhobor bread recipe is around 200 years old, brought over from Russia. The booth at the EX sells about 700 loaves a day.
Rempel reminds everyone that your admission to the EX also gets you into the grandstand shows. If you are driving, parking is $10 and it’s cash only at the gate, but if there are 5 or more people in the vehicle, it’s free. If you have a Superpass, you can ride Saskatoon Transit to and from Prairieland Park for free. Opening day is also $10 Tuesday, meaning a savings on your admission ticket. Tomorrow (Wed) is Kids’ Day at the EX.
