The Saskatchewan Roughriders are idle until Friday when they visit the Montreal Alouettes. Game time is 5 p.m. on T-S-N. The Green and White have 4 wins, 3 losses for 8 points…tied for 3rd place in the West Division. Montreal has 3 wins, 3 losses for 6 points…tied for 2nd place in the East Division. The Riders’ next home game is Saturday, August 24th against the Ottawa RedBlacks. Game time is 5 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium.

On the golf courses…
The Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship continues today and runs through Thursday in Nova Scotia. It’s the second and final day of the Willingdon Cup, inter-provincial team competition. Saskatchewan is one of 11 teams taking part, made up of Danny Klughart of Prince Albert, Jerehmy Ryde of Eston and Justin Wood of Unity. In addition, four other Saskatchewan golfers are taking part in the individual portion, which is four days and 72 holes of stroke play. They are Kyle Wiebe of Madison along with Roman Timmerman, Ty Campbell and Brad Moser all of Saskatoon.

The Saskatchewan Senior Women’s and Men’s Golf Championships start today and run through Thursday in Regina. A total of 23 women and 117 men will take part in the three-day, 54-hole competition. Today is the first round.
