Saskatoon Police would like to know what happened between August 1st, when 68 year old Richard Fernuk was suffering chest pains after visiting friends, and August 3rd, when officers doing a welfare check, found Fernuk dead in his apartment on the 22 hundred block or St Charles Avenue. An autopsy was completed on Tuesday and his death was determined to be a homicide. The pains Fernuk was experiencing last Thursday were related to an existing heart condition. He was treated in hospital that night and released. He can be seen on security video leaving the hospital just before 4:00 am Friday. Police would like to know if anyone had contact with him between that time and when police found his body Saturday afternoon. You can see a photo taken from the security video attached to this story at cjwwradio.com. Anyone with information is asked to contact major Crimes at Saskatoon City Police.
