The Saskatchewan Roughriders look to make it four wins in a row Friday night in Montreal.
One of the questions going into the game is the status of receiver Shaq Evans who suffered an ankle injury in practice this week. Head coach Craig Dickenson is optimistic he’ll be able to play. But, if Evans can’t go, newly acquired Kenny Stafford will take his place.
In addition, the Riders head into Montreal with a patchwork defensive line. Injuries to Micah Johnson, A-C Leonard and Zack Evans means Charleston Hughes is the only member of the group that started at home against Hamilton last week that will start Friday night against the Alouettes.
On the other side where, with Vernon Adams Junior on the shelf due to a concussion suffered last week, Montreal will go with Antonio Pipkin at quarterback.
Meanwhile, Green and White quarterback Cody Fajardo is coming off another 300-plus yard passing performance against Hamilton as they get ready for the showdown against the Alouettes. Fajardo notes Montreal has an excellent turnover ratio and their defence is good at taking away the deep pass routes so the offense has to adjust it’s game plan and stay away from fumbles and picks.
Game time is 5 o’clock on T-S-N for the 4-3 Roughriders against the 3-3 Alouettes.
