Two new facilities are now open in Saskatoon with 150 new childcare spaces. Minister of Education, Gordon Wyant, says 60 childcare spaces for infants and toddlers and 90 childcare spaces for preschool-aged children were allocated to the Building Brains Early Learning Centre a year ago, with funding provided by both the federal and provincial governments. Building Brains is a not-for-profit corporation that provides early childhood education. Its award winning program has been successful in Calgary so founder Anil Karim says they decided to replicate it in Saskatoon at Hanselman Place.
