A woman for whom there was a Canada-wide arrest warrant in connection to the Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation has been located. RCMP say Nikita Sandra Cook was arrested by the Edmonton Police Service without incident on Thursday. She makes her first court appearance on Monday morning in North Battleford.
Cook is from the Onion Lake Cree Nation and her charges are first degree murder and kidnapping. She is one of eight people who have been charged in connection to this investigation.
Tiki Laverdiere traveled from Edmonton to the North Battleford area for a funeral at the end of April. The last time she was heard from was May 1st and then her remains were found by a police dog team on July 11th just outside of North Battleford.
