Alberta RCMP have confirmed the three people killed in the multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday between the communities of Chinook and Cereal, Alberta were from Saskatoon.
There were seven passenger vehicles and three semi trucks involved in the accident. One of the trucks was carrying fuel, which ignited, causing several vehicles to catch fire. Another truck was carrying butane. Ten people injured in the accident, two critically.
Cereal is about 60 kilometres west of the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary.
It was just 2 weeks ago, there was a fatal accident on the same highway. An 11 year old boy was killed and 4 were injured near Oyen on August 7th. The accident involved a vehicle and 2 tractor-trailers.
