A garage fire Saturday morning at 2413 Albert Avenue in the city’s Avalon neighbourhood destroyed two vehicles.
Around 11:20, the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to the scene. Heavy thick black smoke was visible once crews arrived.
Firefighters then used a defensive attack on the fire as flames and heavy smoke were coming through the roof. Along with two vehicles, there were also two barrels of fuel and a tank of acetylene in the garage.
Heat from the flames caused damage to the home, fence and the neighbouring garage. The roof of the garage also collapsed during the fire. Crews had the blaze under control in 27 minutes.
There were no injuries and at this time, the cause of the fire has not been determined and a damage estimate is not yet available.
