Saskatoon City Council will host their monthly meeting this afternoon (mon) at City Hall. On the agenda are the costs associated around business licenses for cannabis shops and possibly allowing dogs in Kiwanis Park will be discussed. Last year, City Council voted in favour of imposing a business licence fee of $20 thousand with an annual renewal fee of $10 thousand for retail cannabis stores. Today (mon), Council will vote on whether or not to drastically change the annual renewal fee from $10 thousand to $500. Also, Councillors will also look at possibly amending a bylaw that would allow dogs on leashes in Kiwanis Park. Even though many residents take their dog into the park that stretches from the Broadway Bridge to University Bridge on the west side of the river, a bylaw has been in place for 37 banning pets from entering the park. Today’s meeting gets underway at 1 p.m.
