Traffic restrictions were in place on the 700 block of Confederation Drive last night [thurs] as the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a basement apartment fire. The call came in about 7:20. Some occupants were already evacuating as crews arrived. They evacuated the rest of the building and quickly extinguished the fire that was confined to one suite. No one was hurt. Damage is pegged at $10 thousand. The cause remains under investigation.
