Saskatchewan says the Supreme Court of Canada didn’t grant its request to delay its appeal hearing over the carbon tax.
The province initially announced the case could be heard before the end of the year, but asked for more time and expected a delay could mean a hearing in spring 2020.
It says a delay would allow for a better co-ordination of challenges coming from other provinces like Ontario.
Ottawa opposed the move and said the hearing should take place in a timely manner in order to provide certainly for households and businesses
The Supreme Court recently issued an order stating the hearing remained tentatively set for January 14th, 2020.
