A suspect found on the roof of a house miles away from where it is alleged he evaded police by driving into oncoming traffic on Highway 16, is now facing 50 charges.
Last Saturday RCMP tried to pull over a vehicle speeding near Maidstone and when the vehicle didn’t stop, called off the chase out of concern for public safety.
Cut Knife RCMP tracked down the suspect vehicle a short time later and disabled it using two spike belts when the driver again wouldn’t pull over. The vehicle couldn’t be driven but the driver took off on foot. Lloydminster Police Dog Services tracked down a suspect. Police searched the vehicle and say the seized three prohibited weapons and some ammunition as well as a small amount of cocaine.
