An Olympic hopeful in 2020 hopes to promote her sport at next month’s Fast and Female Fast Champ Chat in her home town of Saskatoon. Natasha Fox fell in love with Wrestling as a young girl and decided to ignore peer pressure in high school and continue to pursue what is considered an obscure sport for girls. She credits her improvement in part to lessons learned from team mate Jillian Gallay. Natasha says the 2016 Olympian and World Championship bronze medalist from St. Brieux taught her the type of dedication and discipline it takes on and off the mat to become an international athlete. Fox is among five athletes who will act as role models for the girls on hand hoping to encourage participation in sports while living healthy lifestyles. The others include Olympic Snowboarder Mercedes Nicoll. The participants between 8-and-18 years of age will also have the chance to try ringette, football, fencing and wheelchair basketball at activity stations. The event is set for September 8th at the SaskTel Sports Centre.
