A fundraiser event in Saskatoon this weekend is one of eighty happening across the country and one of six in Saskatchewan. It’s the Parkinson Canada Superwalk, with check-in at 11:30 Sunday morning at Meewasin Park North. Managing director of Parkinson Canada in Saskatchewan, Todd MacPherson, says participants come together to show one another they are not alone.
Parkinsons is the fastest growing neurologic condition in the country. More than 25 people a day are diagnosed with the disease in Canada and by 2031, it’s projected that will rise to 51 people a day.
The goal in the province is to raise $150-thousand and $2-million across the country for research, providing services and advocacy. You can click on the link below if you would like to help out.
