What began as an equipment violation became a drug trafficking and possession investigation. A Saskatchewan RCMP officer from the Roving Traffic Unit stopped an eastbound vehicle on Highway 1 west of Swift Current last Thursday for having excessive windshield damage, but the charges went beyond that.
Police say 130 grams of cocaine packaged for distribution, money, drug packaging materials, a cell phone and the vehicle were seized. A 23 year old Regina man, Jacob Mclauchlan, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5-thousand.
