The Saskatoon Blades will have four overage players to choose from for this weekend’s final two pre-season games against the Winnipeg ICE at SaskTel Centre.
Defenceman Scott Walford is back from Winnipeg Jets rookie camp while blueliner Nolan Kneen from Colorado and left winger Riley McKay from Chicago are on the way. They will join 20-year-old winger Ryan Hughes. Only three of the four can dress for any one game and that is the number of overagers allowed as of October 10. In addition, captain Chase Wouters has been invited to Anaheim’s main training camp. The same goes for Kirby Dach with Chicago and Eric Florchuk with Washington. The Blue and Gold will play the ICE Friday and Saturday at 7 o’clock. Both games will be on the radio on 98-COOL, beginning with the Sardinia Family Restaurant pre-game show at 6.
