The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations applauds the appointment of Saskatchewan’s 23rd Lieutenant Governor.

Chief Bobby Cameron says Russell Mirasty is a proud member of the Lac la Ronge Indian Band and long-time serving member of the RCMP.

Cameron calls Mirasty’s appointment as the Queen’s representative in Saskatchewan a significant honour and a reflection of his long list of accomplishments.

Cameron says he looks forward to working alongside Mirasty to ensure the protection and implementation of treaty rights.
