Saskatoon Police had to deal with a couple of incidents Sunday afternoon, including a barricaded man and a suspicious package. Around 2:20, Police responded to a weapons call on the 300 block of Avenue T South. A man was seen in a residence with a gun. He barricaded himself inside and police brought out the Tactical Support Unit and Crisis Negotiators. It eventually ended with the 33 year old taken into custody. He is facing firearms related charges.
Around five o’clock, There was a report of a suspicious package in the area of 21st Street and 2nd Avenue. The Explosives Disposal Unit was called out and Traffic was restricted on 2nd Avenue between 21st and 22nd streets. The package turned out to be empty.
