The Vice President of the Canadian Labour Congress believes pharmacare is the top issue for unionized workers in next month’s Federal Election.
Larry Rousseau says insurance premiums have made benefit plans too expensive for workers and employers.
He favours a single-payer universal public program where all people need to pay for their prescriptions are their health cards.
Rousseau will also tell unionized workers in Saskatoon today (Sat) other issues they should focus on are protecting pensions, addressing climate change, creating good jobs and building inclusive communities.
They will gather at 11 a.m. at the Steelworkers Hall on Fairmont Drive.
