What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, tit for tat, etcetera.
The Prince Albert Raiders gained a split of the opening weekend home-and-home series by nipping the Saskatoon Blades 1-0 Saturday at SaskTel Centre.
Cole Fonstad scored the game’s only goal, with 7:58 remaining in the third period, and Boston Bilous made it stand for the P-A victory, making 26 saves for his second career shutout. At the other end, Nolan Maier couldn’t quite match Bilous save for save, stopping 25 of 26 shots.
The victory for the Raiders came in front of 6,221 fans…spoiling the Bridge City Bunch’s home opener, one night after the Blue and Gold had done the same by a 3-2 score in overtime in Prince Albert.
The Blades are off until Friday when they are home to the Winnipeg ICE while the Raiders visit Regina. Following is the official game summary from the W-H-L…
