A man suspected in a Tuesday night assault on a woman in a park near 33rd Street West and Edmonton Avenue was arrested after a close encounter with a police dog.
Saskatoon Police were told the suspect took off in a car that was later involved in a collision at 33rd and Circle Drive.
Police say the driver bolted and was tracked down by the canine in the backyard of an Avenue U South residence but refused to surrender.
The dog convinced him otherwise.
Police say the man was treated in hospital for his canine induced minor injuries.
The injured woman was also treated in hospital for minor injuries.
A 56 year old Onion Lake man is charged with dangerous driving and assault.
