Attempted murder charges in Regina are up significantly from last year according to the most recent crime stats report. Regina police say there have been 26 attempted murders so far compared to a total of eight in 2018. Police Chief Evan Bray says gun violence has directly led to the increase. Bray says, drugs guns and gangs are closely interwoven. He says the increase of drugs, particularly meth, is going hand-in-hand with firearms. Also in the crime stats report, there’s an increase of theft from motor vehicles. There were 347 reports of theft of items and cash from vehicles.
