Saskatoon Police are looking for video and witnesses as its Major Crimes section investigates the city’s 14th homicide in 2019. Saskatoon Police and Medavie Services were called to the 900 block of Northumberland Avenue at 2:18 a.m. this morning in Saskatoon’s Massey Place neighbourhood to reports of a man injured after a fight broke out. The fight involved a number of people and a 27 year old man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Shortly after 8:00 am this morning, a Traffic Services officer spotted a vehicle matching a suspect vehicle description in the case and pulled it over. Two people of interest are currently in custody.
Investigators say a number of people were present at the time and witnessed the fight and they believe some have video, of some or all of the event, recorded on personal devices. Police are asking anyone who may have information, including recordings, of this incident, to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300, and ask to speak to an investigator in Major Crimes or if you want to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers.
