Road conditions could run the gamut this weekend with precipitation in the forecast for most of south and central Saskatchewan. At this time of year, precipitation can mean rain, sleet, snow or any permutations of these.
Environment Canada meteorologist Natalie Hazell says the freezing overnight and thawing can make for icy conditions and then add to that possible snow in the forecast for late Sunday into early Tuesday.
She adds that wet snow is heavy, so there could be branches breaking or trees toppling in the areas where there is more precipitation and that means buildings, vehicles, roads or power lines could be hit. Hazel says it’s a good time to check your emergency kit for your home and vehicle to make sure everything is there and hasn’t expired. She explains that if you have water bottles, the water doesn’t expire but the plastic does. Click on the link below for suggestions of what you should pack in your emergency kits.
