A provincial organization that was established 42 years ago has suspended its operations because of a lack of funding. Junior Achievement Canada has taken on the task of fundraising for JA Saskatchewan. The national president is listed on JA Saskatchewan as the contact for the provincial group, and the phone message from the Saskatoon office says they are currently challenged with program delivery because they are experiencing some difficulties which JA Saskatchewan is trying to resolve.
Saskatoon Ward 1 City Councillor Darren Hill was the CEO for JA Saskatchewan, an organization that teaches students financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. A Tweet from Hill says he is leaving the organization and thanks the JA staff, board of directors, board of governors and all of the patrons for their support over the past 12-and-a-half years. When contacted he asked that the media respect his privacy.
Ward 10 City Councillor Zach Jeffries had worked as its Director of Community Relations. CJWW News also reached out to Councillor Jeffries but received no response.
