The fall kicked off with an increase in listings in Saskatoon’s housing market. There were also increases in sales and the average price. According to the Saskatoon Region Association of Realtors, sales rose 14 per cent from a year ago while the average price was up 10 per cent. The number of properties on the market rose 11 per cent. Association interim CEO Trevor Schmidt says, “The market is really balanced right now.” He says, “With the sales-to-listing ratio being at 43 per cent, it indicates both sellers and buyers are able to come together and get deals done.” Year-to-date sales are up seven per cent while listings have fallen two per cent. The average price of $332,762 is practically unchanged from last year.
In the region surrounding Saskatoon, including Warman and Martensville, sales were down 11 per cent in September while listings rose 14 per cent. The average selling price was up three per cent $302,502.
