When you are scheduled to play 10 games this season, instead of the eight as so many of the previous seasons called for, you have to expect a third meeting within two weeks is likely for the Saskatoon Blades and Prince Albert Raiders.
Friday night’s tussle takes place at the Art Hauser Centre. P-A has yet to lose in regulation time (3-0-1), their lone blemish being the opening night 3-2 overtime loss to the Bridge City Bunch. That means the Raiders are on a three-game winning streak, out-scoring the opposition 9-4 in the process. They may have 20-year-old defenceman Zack Hayes back in the line-up tonight after he was returned to the reigning W-H-L champions by the San Diego Gulls…the American League affiliate of the N-H-L’s Anaheim Ducks.
The 2-3-0 Blades are coming off a split of games in Alberta earlier this week…a 2-1 loss Tuesday in Red Deer and a 3-2 victory Wednesday in Lethbridge…while Prince Albert has been off since Saturday. This is the second of six consecutive home games for the Raiders before they head off on their U-S Division road trip.
The broadcast on 98-COOL starts at 6 with the Sardinia Family Restaurant pre-game show and the play-by-play at 7.
