A mural project from the Prince Albert Historical Society is up for a national award. The Indigenous Mural Project, which is part of a newly developed Indigenous space at the museum, has made the shortlist for the Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Community Programming.
The project includes artwork designed by Leah Dorian and Kevin Pee-Ace and painted by the public, Queen Mary School students and Northcote manor residents. The Indigenous display was recognized earlier this year with the Museums Association of Saskatchewan Award of Merit.
