Looking to remain unpredictable Unifor members will be returning to a work-to-rule campaign on Tuesday.
Assistant to the President of Unifor Chris MacDonald said it is not something that is permanent and a return to full job action could take place if an amended agreement or bargaining does not resume.
McDonald says the union has shown it can move its resources, shut down picket lines and show up in places not expected and he stresses they are not going to go away anytime soon, that this is going to escalate.
So McDonald says they are going back to work and are going to give the government and Crown Corporations a chance to get back to the bargaining table and get off the zero mandate.
The government is offering a 5 per cent increase over 5 years. Unifor says it’s actually zero per cent for the first 2 years, then 1 per cent in the 3rd, and 2 per cent in the 4th and 5th years. (CKRM)
