A fourth tie to Huskie Athletics has been honoured with induction into the Canada West Hall-of-Fame.
Distance runner Jamie Epp is the 31st overall person to be enshrined in the new Hall. Over five years at the U of S, Epp was an All-Canadian eight times…four times in each of cross-country running and track and field…and a Canada West all-star nine times…five times for cross-country running. In 2003, Epp was named the Male Athlete-of-the-Year for Huskie Athletics. He joins Val Schneider, Brent Schneider and Dr. Sylvia Fedoruk in the Canada West Hall-of-Fame. EDMONTON – A standout distance runner, Jamie Epp has been inducted in the Canada West Hall of Fame.
Over his five-year career at the University of Saskatchewan, Epp achieved tremendous success both indoors and outdoors running for the Huskies.
Combined, Epp was a nine-time CW all-star (five in XC, four in T&F) and an eight-time All-Canadian (four in XC, four in T&F). He twice won gold individually at cross country nationals, and during the 2002-03 season was the Huskie Athletics Male Athlete of the Year.
In addition to his university career, Epp competed internationally for Canada, including in 1999 at the Pan American Junior Championships where he finished fifth.

BIOGRAPHY:
Jamie Epp was the dominant force in Canadian university distance running at the dawn of the 21st Century.
Over five seasons at the University of Saskatchewan, Epp proved near-unstoppable in both cross-country and track and field competition.
Indoors, Epp was a three-time national champion in the 1,500-metre and also won the Canadian 3,000-metre final in the 2002, while winning four Canada West titles and a CIS title in 2002. Outdoors, Epp was a two-time national cross country champ and won a total of 12 individual medals at the national championships.
Epp was twice the national cross country athlete of the year, and was also the Huskies top Male Athlete during the 2002-03 season.
Epp competed internationally for Canada at the World Junior Cross Country Championship, the World University Cross Country Championships, the World Senior Cross Country Championship, and finished fifth in the 10,000-metres at the Pan American Junior Championships in 1999.
After graduating from Saskatchewan with a degree in kinesiology, Epp studied at the University of Queensland where he earned a Masters of Sports Coaching. Since 2013, Epp has been part of the Huskies cross country coaching staff and has worked as an endurance coach with Saskatchewan provincial teams.
He is a member of both the Huskies Hall of Fame and Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame.
