With the Blackhawks back home from Europe, and losing their N-H-L regular-season opener 4-3 to Philadelphia in Prague, Czech Republic, the Chicago media started in on line-up changes Monday, including the status of 18-year-old centre Kirby Dach (pictured).
“I think we’d like to get him up to speed a little more, get him back home here,” said Hawks’ head coach Jeremy Colliton of the third overall pick in the 2019 Draft. “(Monday) was a good, full practice for him. It’s tough, over there we did practice, (but) it wasn’t the high-intensity…at least (on) all the days…that we would like to get him back up (to speed). We want to give him the best opportunity to step right in and help us.
“I don’t think he’ll be playing Thursday.”
Chicago plays the first of seven consecutive home games Thursday against San Jose.
