On a day where Canadians are deciding who will govern our country for the next four years, Rider Nation found out Monday that Cody Fajardo is staying for at least two more seasons after this one!
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Monday that Fajardo has signed a new deal with the team that will keep him with the Green and White through the end of the 2021 season.
It is not known how much the extension is worth, but one report suggests the new deal will pay the 27-year-old 450-thousand dollars per season.
Fajardo came to the Riders as a free agent in February and was scheduled to serve as the back-up quarterback, but he was pressed into duty almost immediately when Zach Collaros was injured in the first series of the first game June 13 in Hamilton. He has thrown for almost 4,000 yards and 16 touchdowns while running for over 600 yards and 10 touchdowns.
