The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call this morning about a dumpster on fire on the 300 block of Avenue J North and when firefighters arrived it was actually a garage on fire as well.

Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the double detached garage and there was a large tree which had caught fire and was dispersing burning leaves downwind.

It was 25 minutes to get the fire under control and in addition, a power line was arcing. The City of Saskatoon Light and power crews took care of affected power lines. No occupants were in the building and no one was hurt. The fire and damage estimate have yet to be determined.
